The Fracture Event was the concluding live event for Chapter 3 of Fortnite: Battle Royale. It took place on December 3rd, 2022, and lasted for 40 minutes. The event began with players spawning onto a floating island with a countdown to a TV screen. A cinematic showing the Chapter 3 Island started as the countdown reached zero. In the cut scene, The Herald approached a collection of “Loopers” attempting to take her out. Despite their efforts, The Herald fused with the Reality Tree and Chromed the entire island. This resulted in the destruction of Artemis (and Apollo off-screen), leaving only The Zero Point remaining. The Zero Point is awake and begins to grab all surviving pieces of the island back together before going back to dormant mode again. With the help of Amie and The Paradigm, they are able to restore the Zero Point. She then activates Zero Fusion, and The Zero Point fuses the part of the island together forming most of Asteria.

A new trailer was released about an hour after the event on the official Fortnite YouTube channel.
